There seems to be little focus on the vast areas of ‘everyday urbanism’ where the majority live. This talk will examine new thinking and techniques which deliver aspirational outcomes with modest means. Special attention is given to suburban areas and small settlements.
Director of Urbanism plus, Kobus Mentz is one of the leading sustainability based urban designers in Australia and New Zealand. He has contributed to change in urban development practices in the region, setting the agenda through his delivery of demonstration projects, publications, professional training, regeneration strategies and his countries first spatially-based sub regional plans.
