Not quite free, but near enough ($5 – 10!), Connecting Environmental Professionals runs several debates, discussion panels and workshops throughout the year for those interested in entering sustainability/the environment as a career. The first one is:
September Speaker Event: Fisheries and Global Warming Impacts on Marine Ecosystem and Food Security featuring Dr. Daniel Pauly
Join Connecting Environmental Professionals for our first event of the season with Dr. Daniel Pauly, Professor, UBC Fisheries Centre and Zoology Department Principal Investigator, Sea Around Us Project.
Dr. Pauly will be giving a global overview on the topic but will likely address local issues, such as the current salmon crisis here in BC, during the Q&A period after his lecture.
When: Tuesday, September 29th, 2009 (Registration at 6:30pm, lecture 7-8:30pm)
Where: UBC Robson Square, Room C.130
Cost: Admission to our speaker series costs $5 for members and $10 for non-members.
